Welcome back!
Here is a short account of our first project this school year :
We studied the different kinds of autobiography which exist : paintings, diaries, novels etc.
An autobiography talks about experiences and the important events which took place in one's life. Sometimes, it's based on real facts and feelings and sometimes, people change reality to promote a part of their lives.
We saw Lucian Freud's self portraits, and written autobiographies by Maya Angelou, Churchill and Benjamin Franklin.
We studied two extracts of different autobiographies : one by David Gordon Nobbs and one by Stravinsky.
Our project was to write one significant memory we lived with a funny tone. Here are the memories of our class, click on the names !
Jeanne Averil Justine Marie Sheep Zapote Guusje
Peter Mélanie Laurine Mushroom Hanna Maëlys

Our latest project was all about art and here is the result of our work :
An online art gallery with a selection of art works by different artists. Click on a painting to have access to information about the artist and the work of art or listen to our presentations.
We are also exhibiting ekphrastic poems (inspired from works of art) which we wrote using landscape paintings as a source of inspiration.
Enjoy !

This is our second project this year in the literature class. We're starting with "The Kite Runner" by Khaleid Hosseini, an American writer of Afghan origin. We've read the first chapter of his book and watched the beginning of the film adaptation. Find out what we're doing here :
